Danny Nee is a retired American college basketball coach who was known for his successful and lengthy coaching career. He served as the head coach for several NCAA Division I basketball programs, including Ohio University, Robert Morris University, and the University of Nebraska.
Nee had a successful tenure as the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1986 to 2000, leading the team to five NCAA Tournament appearances and two NIT bids. He is the winningest coach in Nebraska basketball history, with a record of 254-190 during his time with the team.
After leaving Nebraska, Nee went on to coach at Duquesne University for four seasons before retiring from coaching in 2005. He was known for his intense coaching style, defensive focus, and ability to develop players to reach their full potential on the court.
In addition to his coaching career, Nee has also worked as a college basketball analyst for various media outlets. He continues to be involved in the basketball community and is remembered as a respected and successful coach in the sport.
